These are not songs of revolution nor are we revolutionaries.
Our simple songs are for your spirit in its eternal quest to be free.
These are not days for serving too many, these are not days for serving just one.
These days i count as my blessings and thank Jah at the rising sun.
But i hear the same old cries on the television news and its giving me a classic case of contemporary blues.
So i got to…
take some time from the things on my mind to swing to a rhythm get lost in the black girls rhyme.
Cause the consequence of a mind too tense is a lot less door and a lot more fence.
Hence I’m takin the time to let the body unwind, kick to the beat sweep the pretty girls off their feet,
Oh its complete oh when i find the time to abuse good wine above the tide line with a few old friends of mine, by design.
So if you hear the same old cries on the television news, if its giving you a classic case of contemporary blues.
So why don’t you…
take some time from the things on my mind to swing to a rhythm get lost in the black girls rhyme.

I did a little time Southwest of Tokyo
Where the typhoons rip through the cherry blossoms hot pink glow
It was a totomo kakua sorta scene
Oh what a dream, what a dream, what a dream…
Friday night and the DJs want to play
Headin out and drinking on the subway
In the back rooms we’d lounge and get lazy
But in the round were down and a little bit crazy
Yeah in the round were down and a little bit crazy
So dance, dance, dance, oh baby lets never ever fight.
Kick up your heels till love you feels, we’re gonna blow some watts tonight.
You got to move your body got no time to talk
Gonna to make me ache for your shake n bake, cause your the best rock on the block! Oh babe!
Your gonna to make me ache for your shake n bake, cause your the best rock on the block!
Oh baby ooooh….
Now I live Northwest of 49
Where the big blue breaks and the girls are oh so fine, fine, fine.
It’s a warm, green wet hippy dream.
What a dream, what a dream, what a dream…
Friday nights now the band just wants to play
We got the drum, the bass, the congas and the lead
Im gonna sing till my voice goes hazy
So in the round get down and a little bit crazy
Yeah in the round get down and a little bit crazy
And dance, dance, dance, oh baby lets never ever fight.
Third beach in August where the drums beat loud, spinning all the girls like a wind through the crowd.
Let me take my final breathe here give me one more sound, let my body feed the salmon when they come around.
I got a mind of optimism that you can’t keep down, i like the ladies strong and brown.
and waking up in early morning, west coast rain, Tofino storming!
Oil to the ocean, across a sacred ground.
They say that we are lost but i believe that we have found, Skeena, Stikine and Nass to be, sacred headwaters BC!
So i will live my life with thee cause its things like this that keep me free, oh its things like this that keep me free.

We aint no haters we’re the good-love instigators got the devil tied up in the trunk.
We’re no dictators were the upbeat liberators got the Reggae, Rock, Soul and the Funk.
Theres no debater if the beats are going later we can find a place far from the crowd.
But for now we got a solar generator so lets turn up the radio loud.
Ooooooo we hear the song say oh!
Ooooooo we hear the song say oh!
Ooooooo we hear the song say oh!
Ooooooo we hear the song say oh!
Sunrise, pedal in easy on my two wheel ride.
Sunrise, pedal in easy on my two wheel ride.
Sunrise, pedal in easy on my two wheel ride.
Sunrise, pedal in easy on my two wheel ride.
Were fundamental not a purchase or a rental so keep your fat stacks home for the night
Cause what were makings gotta be given can’t be taken holds the darkens up to the light.
And in that moment theres a single pure component that bring the whole house onto its feet.
From the country to the city oh so pretty all the people cry “Give us a beat!!!!”

Headin' Down

Theres a tanker lost in the morning fog off the coast of Haida Gwaii.
Waters rising in the Bow River valley, near where my sister calls home.
It takes a daily shot of heroin for some to rise at all.
So I’m heading down to a river in the fall.
Sing a song with the brothers and the sisters and put a calm on it all.
See the sun go down on the island don’t cost me a dime.
Cause where the wind slows thats when the mind blows, its when i write my best rhyme.
I got a minor music education but art is art.
So I’m heading down to a river in the fall.
Sing a song with the brothers and the sisters and put a calm on it all.
Sometimes your lost, sometimes your found, sometimes your buried deep under ground.
Got a little time for Love, got a little time for your things that make me crazy for more.
But if the sun blows or if the minds close it’ll be alright,
cause where the soul goes aint not nobody knows it’ll be alright.
So I’m heading down to a river in the fall.
Sing a song with the brothers and the sisters and put a calm on it all.

Chaka

Chaka played maracas in a prairie latin band.
She shook from Moose Jaw clear up north to Chipewyan.
Just outside Regina she found love and settled down
and danced to first flamenco in that snow white prairie town.
oooh oooh oooh…
She bought a rancher and a Husky Diner too.
Served Nabob coffee to the truckers passing through.
Till one dark night with all the snow drifting around,
she thought she heard a call a North Pacific sort of sound.
oooh oooh oooh…
It said, Come now, come now come now ooooh and see us now…
Now Chaka plays maracas in a west coast latin band.
She shakes from old town Atlin way down South to Lotusland
Sometimes she cries “Regina” when the rain begins to pound,
and dances the flamenco with a new love she has found.
oooh oooh oooh…
If i sing loud, if i sing loud, if i sing loud, will they hear me now
If my love could hear me now, if my love could hear me now, if my love, if my looooove, if my loooooove….. could hear me now.
